Certified Public Accountant – Auditing and Attestation (AUD)

Course Overview

The CPA designation provides assurance to the public, the government, and the business community that CPA licensees have obtained the education and relevant work experience necessary to perform specialized accounting, auditing, and reporting services within a strict code of professional ethics.

The AUD section tests knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and the U.S. auditing standards. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate an understanding of auditing standards for issuers (public companies), non-issuers (organizations other than public companies), governmental entities, nonprofit organizations. Knowledge of accounting ethics standards and codes must be demonstrated within various testing scenarios.

Prerequisites

To qualify for the CPA Exam as an international candidate, you need to meet educational and other requirements specific to the state or jurisdiction in which you intend to be licensed to practice.

Most states require that you have a bachelor’s degree before you sit for the exam. However, some states require that you have 150 hours of coursework (the equivalent of a Master’s degree) before you qualify to sit.

Exam Format

The 4 exam sections take on a wide range of topics within these areas. The exam sections also include 2 different question types: multiple-choice (MCQs) and task-based simulations (TBSs). The exam presents dozens of these questions in a total of 5 testlet, all of which you must complete in 4 hours.
